Sunderland v Everton SS1 7.45pm Norwich v Watford 7.45pm Liverpool v Chelsea 8pm
A Sunderland win will relegate Newcastle ...& Norwich A Chelsea win would mean Liverpool can't finish above us

Unfortunately, we really won't know until the 21st.
Unless we win and Man U drop points, Sunday.

It was a genuine question, and to be honest I'm still not much the clearer. Best wait until Sunday then all will be clearer, eh.

Thanks for going back to this.
You said in the post I was responding to: "assuming 7th gets in," and the reason would happening would be that Man U won the Cup.
So the 5th league spot would pass down if they were there or they could be 6th and group stage would be theirs automatically,
That said I left out a couple of scenarios I guess.
If they won and finished 7th, that and 5th would be group stage.
If they won and Liverpool won the Europa League and finished 7th then the Europa spot that would be taken away is the 5th spot one, so 6th would be not be group stage.

7th would 3rd qualifying round (the round we went out at this year, with the playoff round after than before the group stage.) 6th is group stage''
The BBC are saying that 6th place enters the EL at the 3rd Q stage, not group stage, effectifely replacing the League Cup winners Man City who would have entered at that stage?

After looking at the form table, the baggies will need to up their game to beat the scouse U7's!
0 wins 3 draws 7 losses - 3 goals and 11 conceeded.
Love that we have the 4th best away record. 30 goals in 18 games is unheard of :o)

Grumps - Yea, I reckon he's thinking CL or nothing. Can see them rolling over at WBA with a very weak side, may even be worth a punt?

If Liverpool agent in Europe and klopp has strengthened finally bringing in more of his own players, I imagine he's rubbing his hands together at the thought of an all out attack in the league without Europe to worry about.
Make them very dangerous and big contenders I'm sure, as he's clearly a brilliant manager.

If Everton keep up there current form then they are for the chop next season, awful team, no way they will hang onto Lukaku or Stones and i bet Byram is thinking thank fuck i didnt go there.
Be shocked if Martinez is there next season, team on the slide IMO, always consistently in the top 10 but maybe due a fall from grace??? in the next season or 2.

Funny thing is when I was typing that I was thinking to myself I really don't even care. I know it's progress, but ultimately I do not give a monkies if we''re in it or not.
I badly wanted the FA Cup this year, but they blew it.

6th is group stage.
I'm glad we won more than one of our last 4 at least.

Even a point at Swansea would have put us in a better position, or even losing by the odd goal, we massively fucked up there. Soton WILL beat Palace, so I think we need to win at Stoke, we should be able to hold Liverpool off anyway.
Does anyone know how earlier you enter into the EL if finishing 7th rather than 6th, assuming 7th gets you in of course?

Really CL or nothing for 'pool.
Klopp: "The result tonight was not important,"
Don't really understand that, could end with nothing.

I guess it's the old cliche, we have to just concentrate on winning our game. That guarantees at least 6th and 65 points! Fucking 65! How far we have come.
Fuck Stoke, Stanley Matthews, Josiah Wedgewood, Robbie Williams, Phil Taylor, Frank Bough, fuck you all, your boys are gonna take one hell of a beating!!!

We can still finish 5th if Man U don't beat Bournemouth.

Liverpool minds are definitely elsewhere and the commentators seemed to think they would best resting most everyone.
But that really doesn't matter as only 6th is safe and only 5th is safely in the group stage.

Great night for Newcastle
Relegated by Sunderland Playing in the same league as Burton Albion. The same Burton Albion that was non league when they were Champions league
PLUS They might yet see Pardew (who they hate, for some reason) lift the FA Cup!
They were fucking 12th when he left. Fucking northern Spurs wannabe cunts, hope they get relegated again next season.
